Monday 8 April 2019 Bermagui River

A short paddle today. High tide was 11.03am at the Bermi Bridge.

We started our paddle about 11.30am on the start of the outgoing tide

Looking toward Gulaga as we wait for L who was chatting to a bloke who has set up home in an old water tank on the edge of the inlet.

By the time we headed under the bridge the tide had turned.  Little Egrets perched on the heads of a couple of mangroves.

We didn't paddle very far before stopping for lunch.  After which we floated back with the tide, watching for fish and birds.

Spot the Grey Heron

Spot the stingray

Seen but not photographed: sea eagles, plovers, pelicans, gar fish and at least 3 other species of fish, a couple of seriously huge (the one in the pic above is a tiddler by comparison) stingrays and either a Nankeen or Striated Heron lurking in the mangroves.
