Thursday 6/10 Bollington Aqueduct to Bridge 21, Peak Forest Canal pt 2

Cruising through Marple

Coming up to Marple Junction

And here we turn right

To Bugsworth Basin

If we had turned left, 14 miles and 41 locks later we'd have been back in Castlefield Basin in Manchester!

Heading up the Upper Peak Forest Canal

I think we are going to be Cruising through some wonderful countryside

And another

We moored up for the day at 3.45' a little more than a mile from the junction. The view from the kitchen window

After settling in I went for a walk up the canal and came across this sign, we have passed several similar signs on today's cruise.

Beside what I'd initially thought were a couple of marker stones, but was in fact a style - for skinny people and skinny dogs.

I managed to squeeze through and this is the vista that lay before me. I do so much wish the iPad had a better camera so I could do the beauty before me justice.

I walked down to the next style and then retraced my steps to the canal, conscious that I had got into serious trouble from his lordship last time I had wandered off and followed my nose.  I admired this stonework on the side of the canal

And returned to Aqua Life

9 miles in 4 hours
